Job Title: Administrative Assistant

Location: Tallahassee, Florida

Salary: Based on Experience:  Up to $30,000

Summary:  

Veterans Florida seeks an Administrative Asssitant who will be responsible for performing high-level and day-to-day administrative duties in support of the Executive Director, the Board of Directors, and the Veterans Florida team in general.

Duties:

  • Provide administrative duties as directed by the Executive Director to include calendars, meeting schedules, travel arrangements, processing expense reports, production of reports and graphics, arranging monthly meetings, teleconferences, webinars and taking minutes
  • Coordinate logistics for Board of Director’s meetings to include site locations, audiovisual and food and beverage services
  • Prepare correspondence such as thank you letters after meetings on behalf of the Executive Director and transcribe both open and closed meeting minutes
  • Review incoming correspondence to determine disposition and follow-through. Prepare responses as necessary/requested on behalf of the Executive Director
  • Perform general administrative office support functions such as filing, preparing expense reports, handling mailings, coordinating itineraries

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Three years’ experience as an administrative assistant or similar position
  • Excellent competency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Demonstrated experience working with senior level executives
  • Excellent business writing skills encompassing varied types of business/executive communications
  • High school graduate

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A veteran of the Armed Forces
  • Knowledge of government and/or legislative operations and processes
  • A.A. degree or relevant college-level coursework
  • Experience with State of Florida Travel Vouchers

Budget Manager:

Summary:

Veterans Florida seeks a creative, well-organized, and experienced individual for the position of Budget Manager. The Budget Manager is part of the executive team and responsible for developing, maintaining, and monitoring the organization’s budgets and budgetary process, to include an understanding of the Florida legislative budget and funding processes. Additionally, the Budget Manager organizes Board Meetings and other events, and assists the executive team where necessary. The Budget Manager reports to the Chief Operating Officer and supports the Executive Director and Board of Directors.

Entrepreneurship Program Manager

Veterans Florida seeks a creative, well-organized, and experienced individual for the position of Entrepreneurship Program Manager. The Entrepreneurship Program Manager is part of the executive team and responsible for coordinating, maintaining, and monitoring the organization’s veteran entrepreneurship program, which includes multiple, geographically diverse Florida educational institutions delivering the curriculum to veterans. The Entrepreneurship Program Manager manages the contracts with the educational institutions and receives and reviews for approval regular reports from the institutions. Additionally, the Entrepreneurship Program Manager maintains a statewide list of all veteran specific entrepreneurship resources. The Entrepreneurship Program Manager reports to the Chief Operating Officer and supports the Executive Director and Board of Directors.
