Veterans Florida Executive Director Joe Marino issued the following statement today on Gov. Ron Desantis’ Bolder, Brighter, Better Future Budget:

“We’d like to thank Gov. Desantis for his ongoing commitment to providing Florida’s 1.5 Million military veterans, and those who move here upon transition from service, with the tools they need to succeed in civilian life. Fully funding Veterans Florida’s budget request demonstrates Gov. Desantis’ understanding of the issues that matter most to veterans: opportunities to find a career or pursue a business venture in a state that welcomes them.

These funds provide Veterans Florida more resources to connect more veterans with career opportunities and entrepreneurship support while fulfilling our promise of Florida as the nation’s most veteran-friendly state.”

Gov. Desantis’ recommended budget increases funding for the Veterans Florida operating budget to $500,000 and the Veterans Employment and Training Services (VETS) Program to $2.5 million. The recommendations are available here.

Veterans Florida is a non-profit created by the State of Florida to help military veterans transition to civilian life and to promote Florida’s status as the nation’s most veteran-friendly state. Veterans Florida provides powerful tools for veterans to take advantage of the benefits of living and working in the Sunshine State.
