Heather Collins, Director of Finance and Operational Support
Heather Collins is responsible for financial management, administrative duties, and Human Resources (HR) support, assisting the Executive Director. Heather oversees the administrative team, which includes Sheila Helton, Director of Grants Management, and Consuela Hall, Senior Operations Support Specialist.
Heather brought over 25 years of experience in accounting, procurement, and grant and contract management when she joined Veterans Florida in July 2019. Since then, she has been instrumental in identifying cost-saving opportunities, executing a payroll and banking transition, and overseeing an office relocation. Under her guidance, Veterans Florida has consistently achieved clean audits. Heather comes from a family with a strong tradition of military service; both of her parents served in the U.S. Air Force and were stationed in England during her birth.
